Über mein Hobby Postcrossing habe ich ja hier und da schonmal berichtet. Im Moment kommt immer mal wieder eine Weihnachtskarte an. Die Schwarzweißaufnahme oben ist aus Russland gekommen – auch da werden offenbar Schaufenster mit Stofftieren dekoriert. Und dann gibt es Leute, die die Themen Weihnachten und Elche verbinden:

I have already written about my hobby Postcrossing a few times here and there. These days, there are Christmas cards coming in. The black and white shot above is a scene from Russia – and apparently they decorate their shop windows with stuffed animals as well! And then there are postcrossers who combine the two themes Christmas and mooses:

Ganz erstaunlich finde ich jedoch die zuletzt erhaltenen Grüße aus Finnland. Ich würde nun weder sagen, dass eine Straßenbahn an sich sehr weihnachtlich ist, noch, dass sie sich in diesem Umfeld besonders gut macht – und ein Fan von Straßenbahnen bin ich dann auch nicht.

I was amazed by the greetings from Finland I have recently received. I couldn’t say that trams as such are very Christmassy or that this particular one looked exceptionally well in its surroundings – and then I’m not a fan of trams, either.

Aber wenn dann hinten draufsteht (in Deutsch): „Viele Grüße aus Helsinki. Ich arbeite als Straßenbahnfahrerin (seit 1980). Und mag diese Arbeite noch mal [noch immer?]“ wird sie dann doch irgendwie sehr besonders.

But when you read this text on the back (in German): „Many greetings from Helsinki. I work as tram driver (since 1980). And [still] like this work“ it does become very special.
