Für wenige Wochen habe ich zwei Untermieter. Die habe ich in der Innenstadt „gefunden“ und konnte nicht an ihnen vorbeigehen.

There are two roomers living with me these days but they’ll leave in a couple of weeks. I „found“ them downtown and just couldn’t walk by.

Arbeitslos sind sie bei mir auch noch, denn sie arbeiten als Eierwärmer – und ich esse gar keine gekochten Eier. Aber ich bin optimistisch, dass sie bald wieder Arbeit haben. So lange sie bei mir sind, haben sie wenigstens auch mal Zeit für sich.

They have trouble holding down their jobs as egg cozies while they are with me – because I don’t eat boiled eggs much. But I’m positive that they are back at work soon. And as long as they are here, they at least have some time to themselves.

Und wenn sie mich so angucken, überlege ich doch manchmal, ob ich nicht mit dem Eieressen anfangen sollte – dann hätten sie ja auch bei mir ein Auskommen und müssten nicht weiterziehen.

And when they look at me like that I do consider starting to eat eggs – then they could make a living here, too, and wouldn’t have to move on.

Aber sie wissen ja schon, wo sie hin wollen – gute Reise!

But they already know where they’ll go next – have a safe trip!
