Wir haben den perfekten Sommer! Und ich konnte mich heute nicht zu größeren Outdoor-Aktivitäten aufraffen… warum nur? Aber immerhin habe ich mich von der aktuellen Challenge bei ‚Tis The Season inspirieren lassen. Die Anforderung: eine Karte in sand, navy und „concord“. Das musste ich erstmal recherchieren. Es blieb uneindeutig, manchmal eher blau, manchmal eher lila.

At least I was inspired by the current challenge over at ‚Tis The Season, which is all about sand, navy and concord. I had to do some research into what concord actually is… but the results were equivocal, sometimes more of a blue, sometimes more of a purple.

Und nach der Vollendung merke ich, dass ich sie auch als zweiten Beitrag bei den Jingle Belles einstellen kann, denn ich habe keine Design-Papiere verwendet. Genießt den Sommer!

Auch diesen Elf habe ich bei meinen diversen Aufräumaktionen wiedergefunden… Jahre alt. Aber ich finde, er macht sich ausgesprochen gut in der aktuellen Challenge bei 52 {Christmas} Card Throwdown – das Thema dort ist derzeit Elfen.

My several missions at tidying my creative nook have also brought this little elf to the fore… he was in hiding for quite a few years. I think he’s the perfect centerpiece for a card over at 52 {Christmas} Card Throwdown – their June theme challenge is about elves.

Wenn ihr euch fragt, ob dieser kreative Wahnsinn irgendwann eine Ende findet: es ist derzeit nicht abzusehen. Ich bin seit Mai in einer Auszeit… bis Ende Juli. Umso mehr wünsche ich euch einen guten Start in die neue Woche!

In case you’ve started wondering whether or when this creative mania will end: there’s currently no end in sight. I’ve decided to take a break… from May until the end of July. All the more I wish you all a good start into the new week.

Bei der neuen Challenge der Jingle Belles geht es darum, keine Design-Papiere zu verwenden, sondern einfarbiges Papier bzw. Fotokarton. Bei mir kam noch der Recycling-Gedanke hinzu: ich hatte ja hier bereits vorhergesagt, dass bald noch mehr Karten mit vielen Kreisen kommen würden. Das Rentier (wozu ich durch Lauren Bergold’s Karte inspiriert war), hatte mit einigen Freunden bereits bei einem Weihnachtsklatsch Verwendung gefunden.

The new challenge over at the Jingle Belles is to make a card without using any design papers, just plain papers / cardstock. I have added recycling to the equation: I had mentioned here already that there would be a lot of cards featuring circles in the near future. The reindeer (the use of which was inspired by Lauren Bergold’s card) had a first life at a Christmas coffeeklatsch.

„Rot und weiß“ heißt es in dieser Woche bei Merry Monday… und erstaunlicherweise war meine erste Assoziation „Essen“ und die zweite „Pommes“. Beide nicht wirklich Weihnachtsthemen. Aber dann wurde doch noch was draus.

„Red and White“ is this week’s challenge over at Merry Monday… I was surprised that my first association was (the city of) „Essen“, as their soccer club is „Red-White Essen“, playing fourth league. And the second association was „French Fries“ as they are (most?) often had with ketchup and mayonnaise here – so you order „French Fries red and white“. None of them with any clear connections to Christmas. But I did pull it together in the end.

Alles ziemlich einfach und ohne viel Schnickschnack… ich sollte noch eine „CAS challenge“ dafür finden, „clean and simple“. Ein bisschen Deko blieb für innen übrig:

Zu guter Letzt kann ich noch erfreut verkünden, dass meine Santa Shaker Karte bei den Jingle Belles eine von dreien war, die besonders hervorgehoben wurden… und da habe ich doch gleich mal einen neuen Reiter oben eingeführt, Wins & Achievements – der sich hoffentlich bald weiter füllt. Wer hätte das gedacht… kurz vor Ladenschluss habe ich es tatsächlich noch geschafft, eine Karte zu machen, die sowohl ein Weihnachtsmann-Motiv hat, als auch eine Schüttelkarte ist – für die gerade noch gute 24 Stunden laufende Challenge bei den Jingle Belles, „Shake it, Santa Baby“.

Who would have guessed… there are just about 24 hours left of the current Jingle Belles‘ challenge „Shake it, Santa Baby“ – and I did manage to combine the Santa motive and the shaker card.

Ich war da inspiriert von einer wunderschönen Karte von Lisa Johansen, was den zweigeteilten Hintergrund angeht.

In diesem (Weihnachts-)Kartenbastelwahnsinn gehen mir hoffentlich nicht die neuen Follower verloren, die sich – wahrscheinlich – aufgrund der Reiseberichterstattung angeschlossen haben… Willkommen, Aaron! Es kommen auch wieder andere Zeiten, wenn auch vielleicht nicht so bald. 🙂

I hope the new followers (which I suspect have come onboard based on the recent Madagascar coverage) won’t debark immediately in this (Christmas) Card Creating Frenzy… Welcome, Aaron! There will be other times again, though probably not too soon. 🙂
