Herrje… ich war zu lange nicht hier und muss mit einer komplett neuen Benutzeroerbfläche (und auch Logik…) klarkommen. Mal sehen, wie gut das gelingt. Es ist jedenfalls höchste Zeit für ein Lebenszeichen. Und da diese Geburtstagskarte vorgestern ihren Empfänger erreicht hat, kann ich sie nun veröffentlichen.

Oops… it’s been a while since I was here last and now have to deal with a whole new user interface (and logic…). Let’s see how well that works. It was high time for a sign of life on my part. And as this birthday card reached the birthday girl two days ago, it is now save to publish it.

Frühlingshaftes Grün und das warme Gelb der Sonne der letzten Tage – die erfreulicherweise nun ja mal von Wolken und Regen abgelöst wurde. Mein Salat und diverse weitere Gartenbewohner freuen sich gewaltig. Ich stelle die Karte bei folgenden Challenges ein:

Es fehlt ja auch noch ein Wort zum Geburtstagsfundraiser, bei dem ihr Leser dieses Blogs so großzügig mitgemacht habt – dafür noch mal vielen Dank! Über diesen Blog sind 800 Euro zusammengekommen, die eingeflossen sind in die übergreifende Spendenaktion, die so insgesamt 2.220 Euro überreichen konnte. Die Freude war groß!

And a very late word on the birthday fundraiser I had on this blog, which you have participated in so generously – thank you very much! This blog raised 800 Euros for the cause which were added to the overall appeal, reaching a total of 2,220 Euros. That made a family very happy.

Heute habe ich mich – endlich – mal an eine lange schon anstehende Auftragsarbeit gemacht: „Meine Tante mag Katzen und Blumen“ war der Hinweis. Ich hoffe, sie mag auch diese Karte 🙂 Eine passende Challenge gibt es auch bei Seize The Birthday, so ich sie in den Wettbewerb gebe.

Today I finally sat down to make a card a friend had ordered long ago: „My aunt likes cats and flowers“ was what I had to go by. I hope she likes this card, too 🙂 I will enter it at Seize The Birthday, where anything goes.

Ja, hin und wieder geht auch was anderes als Weihnachten… und das pünktlich zur „Anything goes!“ Challenge bei Seize The Birthday. Montag teilte mir ein Pop-up-Fenster mit, dass Mittwoch der Geburtstag eines Kollegen anstand und ich hatte eine spontane Idee für ein Geldgeschenk unserer Abteilung. Fokus dabei ein zum Oberhemd gefalteter Geldschein – inklusive Krawatte! Das Video dazu habe ich hier gefunden. Das äußere jedoch war eher spartanisch gehalten:

Yes, every now and then I make cards for occasions other than Christmas, too… and coincidentally right in time to participate over at Seize the Birthday’s „Anything goes!“ challenge. On Monday, a pop-up window informed me that a colleague was going to have a birthday on Wednesday and somehow I knew immediately what to make for him (as a gift from our unit). The focus was a bill folded into a shirt – with a tie even! I did it with this video. I kept the front of the card very simple, though:

Auf der linken Innenseite war Platz für unsere Wünsche, rechts dann mehr Girlande mit dem Origami-Hemd.

Inside, there was room for our greetings on the left while I picked up the bunting theme on the right side – and added the origami shirt.

Auch anderweitig ging die Woche kreativ gut zu Ende: eine meiner Karten, die ich bei den Jingle Belles in die „Peace on Earth(Day)-Challenge“ gegeben habe, hat es in die Auswahl der besten geschafft. Und deswegen werde ich mich jetzt bis tief in die Nacht weiter in die Bastelecke hocken 🙂 Schönes Wochenende!

Moreover, This week came to a very nice close on the creative front, with one of my entries into the Jingle Belles‘ „Peace on Earth(Day)-challenge“ being featured. And that’s why I’m highly motivated to move to my creative nook now to craft the night away:-) Have a great weekend!

Wer kann dieser Maus widerstehen? Sie lag schon lange bei mir in der Warteschleife, ihre karnevalistische Version hatte ich bereits für eine Karte verwendet. Gestern hat sie die Glückwünsche zum Geburtstag überbracht und kann somit jetzt veröffentlicht werden 🙂 Und bei Seize the Birthday kommt sie auch noch rechtzeitig an!

Can you resist this mouse? She had been waiting for a while in my stash; I had so far only managed to present her carnival party version. Yesterday, she delivered my birthday greetings so today it’s time to publish her 🙂 And the card makes it in time to participate over at Seize the Birthday as well!

Für das Kuchenbuffet zum 85. Geburtstag meines Vaters hatte ich ein paar fleißige Helfer, denen ich ein kleines Dankeschön geben wollte (und glaubt mir, es fiel mir sehr schwer, die Dankeschöns nicht selbst zu vertilgen!)

I had a few helping hands when it came to making a cake buffet for my Dad’s 85th birthday and wanted to give them a little Thank You (and believe me, it was all could do not to take care of these Thank Yous myself!).

Wie gesagt: ich habe aufgeräumt. Es könnten noch viele weitere Kreise Verwendung finden. Auch das Tulpenmotiv wurde schon vor laaaanger Zeit fertiggestellt.

As I mentioned earlier: I have really spent some time tidying my creative nook. There might be many more projects featuring circles. The tulips image was finished a looooong time ago already.

Der anstehende Besuch einer Jungkartenbastlerin hat mich motiviert, meine Bastelecke nochmal aufzuräumen durchzuorganisieren. Dabei sind mir einige Dinge in die Hände gefallen, die dort schon ewig rumlagen und/oder sich über Monate angesammelt haben und einer weiteren Verwertung zugeführt werden wollten.

I was expecting the visit of a young crafter and was thus motivated to clean up re-organize my creative nook. In the course of this I found quite a few items that had been hiding there forever and/or had been accumulating over months and were anxiously awaiting their destinies.

Die Girlande ist aus einem Magazin ausgeschnitten. Die Torte habe ich von einer anderen Karte gerettet. Die ganzen Kreise sind Reste – oder die Umwandlung von Resten.

The garland came from a magazine. The cake was saved from another card. All the circles are leftovers – or the transformations of scraps.

Da könnte noch mehr kommen… aber nach einem kurzen Blick auf die Kreationen von Maya (eine fehlt, denn die Geburtstagskarte für die Mama muss ein Geheimnis bleiben) – sorry für die dunklen und „kleinen“ Fotos, die Mama war mit dem Smartphone aktiv – erstmal einen schönen Sonntag!

There might be more cards made in this vein… but after a brief view of Maya’s creations (one is missing as it’s the birthday card for her Mom and needs to remain a secret for now) – sorry for the dark and „small“ pictures, Mom was using her smartphone here – have a nice Sunday for now!
