Happy Birthday, UnstampaBelles!

Schon zwei Jahre UnstampaBelles! Und aus diesem Anlass ist mit Papier unter dem Thema Happy Birthday! zu arbeiten. Mein Projekt ist für den Geburtstag eines Nachbarn kommende Woche… und da er nicht zu den Lesern meines Blogs gehört, kann ich das ruhig schonmal veröffentlichen.

Two years UnstampaBelles, amazing! So this month’s challenge is geared towards this occasion: Happy Birthday! My project is for a neighbor’s birthday this coming week… and as he is not amongst the readers of this blog I can publish this today already.

Es ist wieder ein Geldgeschenk – gefaltete Oberhemden. Die Anleitung habe ich in Billes Bastelecke gefunden. Auf zuviel Deko am Rahmen habe ich mit Blick auf den männlichen Empfänger verzichtet 😉

Another present with more or less hidden money – nicely folded dress shirts. I’ve found the instructions for those at Billes Bastelecke (alas, in German only). I passed on too many embellishments for the frame, seeing as this is a „male“ present 😉

Und jetzt, da es etwas kühler wird (und, zugegeben, sich die heutige Tour de France-Etappe ihrem Ende nähert…), werfe ich mich mal auf die erste Brückentour der Saison! Habt ein schönes Wochenende!

And now that it’s cooling down a bit (and I admit: today’s Tour de France stage is nearing its end…) I will get on my bike and go on the first „bridge tour“ of the season! Have a nice weekend!

Rezept / Recipe

Die beiden Kerlchen von Bugaboo habe ich ja schon das eine oder andere Mal verwendet – und heute kamen sie mir sehr gelegen. Bei Winter Wonderland gilt es einem „Rezept“ zu folgen: drei Schneeflocken, zwei Papiere, ein Bild.

I’ve used these cute little guys from Bugaboo a number of times already – and today they were the perfect fit again. Winter Wonderland has a recipe challenge this week: three snowflakes, two papers, one image.

Und genau betrachtet sind es zweimal drei Schneeflocken… Aber jetzt muss ich mich meiner wiederaufgelebten Downton Abbey-Sucht widmen…

If you look closely you notice there’s two times three snowflakes… But now I have to spend some time on my revived Downton Abbey addiction…

Aufwachen / Waking Up

Es gibt einen neuen Blog, Our Beautiful World. Das ist ein Foto Blog. Auch da gibt es jede Woche ein Thema, aber es gibt nichts zu gewinnen, es geht darum, das Leben festzuhalten. Es soll eine Sammlung zu Eindrücken weltweit werden, jeweils zu einem bestimmten Thema. Das erste Thema ist „Aufwachen“.

There’s a new blog out there, Our Beautiful World. It’s a photo blog. Every week there’ll be a word prompt that should be captured with one photo. The idea is to get a global collection on „life“. The first prompt is „Waking Up“.

Das Bild, das ich vor meinem inneren Auge habe, wenn ich an aufwachen denke, ist das erste Wasser, das in der Dusche meinen Körper trifft – aber das ist verdammt schwer zu fotografieren. Und noch dazu ist mein Badezimmer nicht „veröffentlichungstauglich“. Aber an dem Morgen, als ich von diesem Thema las, war ich zum ersten mal seit über zwei Monaten wieder im Botanischen Garten.

What I see before my mind’s eye when I think of waking up is the first gush of water hitting me in the shower – but that is really hard to capture. And also my bathroom is definitely NOT in a shape to be „published“. But on the morning of the word prompt I was at the Botanical Gardens again – for the first time in over two months.

Ich nehme diese Woche also nicht teil, wollte euch aber auf diese Idee hingewiesen haben… und euch die Eindrücke aus dem Botanischen Garten nicht vorenthalten! Und der Hinweis, dass dort am kommenden Sonntag, 07. Juli 2013, um 11 Uhr wieder eine Jazz-Matinee stattfinden wird! Macht’s gut!

So anyway, I won’t be participating this week but wanted to let you know about this idea… and let you enjoy the latest impressions from the Botanical Gardens! And if you are interested: there’ll be a jazz matinee this coming Sunday July 7, 2013 at 11 am. Take care!

Elchige Skizze / Moosey Sketch

Es war mal wieder Zeit für einen Elch. Und dieser Zeitgenosse, Bundled Up Moose von Eureka!Stamps, ließ sich ganz wunderbar kombinieren mit der laufenden Challenge bei Christmas Challenges {With Sketches}. Wieder eine relativ kürzlich gemachte Entdeckung. Die Skizze, von der man sich inspirieren lassen soll, findet ihr auf dem genannten Blog.

It was high time for a moose again. And this dude, Bundled Up Moose by Eureka!Stamps, worked out well with the current challenge at Christmas Challenges {With Sketches} – another rather recent discovery. The sketch that inspired my card can be found at the link provided above.

Und zur Abwechslung habe ich mal wieder eine seltene quadratische Karte gemacht – für einen Elch würde ich doch alles tun. Meat Loaf geht mir nicht mehr aus dem Sinn… I would do anything for moose… so ging das Lied doch, oder?!

I chose a square card for a change – I would do anything for a moose. And now Meat Loaf keeps singing in my head… I would do anything for moose… That’s how it goes, isn’t it?!
