Hier ist er wieder, der Online-Basar zugunsten des Elisabeth Hospizes in Lohmar! Es ist nun das sechste Jahr und das Angebot wächst und wächst. Ich hatte wieder tatkräftige Unterstützung – und stelle die Damen gerne erneut vor, die haben Blut geleckt:
Here we go again: welcome to the online fundraiser for the Elisabeth Hospice in Lohmar! It’s the sixth time and the product range gets bigger every year. And again I had a few helpers who I’d like to introduce, they got hooked:
Das ist Ulla. Wir kennen uns seit 1997, teilen die Liebe zu Katzen, Handarbeiten und ausgiebigen Tratschrunden bei gutem Essen und sehen uns viel zu selten. Ulla hat wieder wie eine Wahnsinnige gestrickt – und sich leider wenige Tage, nachdem sie mir ihr Angebot geschickt hat, den Arm gebrochen 😦
This is Ulla. Our friendship goes back to 1997 and is built on the shared love of cats, crafting and long hours spent talking over good food. We don’t meet nearly often enough these days. Ulla knitted like a madwoman again – and sadly broke her arm a few days after she’d mailed me all her creations 😦
Das Kopfmodell habe ich noch hier und ehrlich gesagt ist das ein bisschen spooky… aber wie auch immer: es gibt also wieder Pulswärmer, Mützen, Sets aus Pulswärmern mit passenden Mützen und den Loop-Schal für die echten Frostbeulen unter euch. That headform is still sitting in my living room and it is a bit spooky, really… but anyhow: there’s wristlets again, hats, sets of wristlets with matching hats and a loop scarf. Prices: pair of wristlets and hats 15 Euros each, 25 Euros for the set, and the loop scarf is at 23 Euros. Have a closer look at the wristlets, too:
Auch Christa ist wieder dabei. Christa kennt mich seit 1975, meine Erinnerung setzt etwas später ein… Auch sie hat ihr Angebot erweitert und zwar um eine absolut fantastische Kürbis-Ananas-Marmelade (es gab einige Test-Esser, die diese Einstufung hier gerne in den Kommentaren bestätigen können) – echt, die ist ein Traum! Es gibt kleine Gläser à 3,80 Euro und größere à 4,80 Euro:
Christa joined in again as well. Christa has known me since 1975 – my memory sets in somewhat later… She has expanded her product range, too – with a fantastic pumpkin pineapple jam (there were a few people who were treated to a test: you are welcome to comment below) – seriously, it’s delicious! There are small glasses at 3,80 Euros and larger ones at 4,80 Euros.
Der Manfred vom Etikett hat übrigens nicht nur angebaut und geerntet, der hat auch geschnibbelt! Und wenn ihr aufgepasst habt: ich sagte, sie hat ihr Angebot erweitert… die Pralinen gibt es auch wieder! Und die Preise bleiben trotz gestiegener Weltmarktpreise für Kakao stabil, 6,50 Euro für den Beutel:
And by the way, Manfred of label fame hasn’t only grown and harvested the pumpkins, he also did all the whittling! And if you paid attention to detail: I said Christa has expanded her range of products… she made her pralines again, too! And despite rising market prices for cocoa, her prices are stable at 6,50 Euros per bag:
Ein Neueinsteiger im Basar ist Silvia. Die kennt mich auch schon so lange wie Christa – und wie mit Ulla verbindet uns unter anderem das Bastelwesen, sie produziert Unmengen an Karten für jedweden Anlass und hat auch sonst für alles mögliche ein Händchen. Sie hat Sterne im Angebot: die kleinen sind sowohl am Baum aber auch am Geschenk sehr schön (2 Euro), die beiden größeren machen sich im Fenster wahrscheinlich am besten (der rote für 9 Euro, der petrol/silberfarbene für 7,50 Euro):
Silvia is a newcomer to this online fundraiser. She’s known me about as long as Christa has – and as with Ulla, we share a knack for all things crafty. She makes boatloads of cards for any occasion and can be trusted with just about anything else, too. She is offering the stars below: the small ones are for use on the tree or as an eyecatcher on a present (2 Euros), the two larger ones are best put in a window (the red one at 9 Euros, the petrol/silver colored one at 7.50 Euros):
Nun zu meinem Angebot. Es gibt acht Pfeffer-Sets mit jeweils drei Sorten Pfeffer aus Madagaskar: schwarzer, roter und wilder Pfeffer (poivre sauvage) – letzterer ist was ganz besonderes. So ein Gourmet-Geschenk könnt ihr für 10 Euro erwerben:

Meine Kernkompetenz liegt natürlich bei Karten – die für 3,90 Euros zu haben sind (der Buchstabe identifiziert die Karte, die Zahl die jeweils vorhandene Anzahl an Karten):

Sind Motive mehrfach vorhanden, sind sie nicht unbedingt exakt wie auf dem abgebildeten Foto (ein Rentier guckt mal nach links, mal nach rechts, beim Nikolaus steht einmal Merry Christmas, das andere Mal HoHoHo usw.). Das Motiv M rechts unten ist für wortkarge Menschen zu empfehlen… viel mehr als „Frohe Weihnachten“ kriegt man darauf nicht unter 😉
If there’s multiples of a design, they are not necessarily all exactly as on the picture shown (a reindeer looking to the left on one, to the right on the other, the Santa adorned with Merry Christmas on one, with Hohoho on the other etc.) The design M on the lower right is perfect for the more taciturn amongst you… no room for much more than „Merry Christmas“ on that one 😉
Und dann, gerade als ich dachte, der Basar steht: da wartet ein Päckchen beim Nachbarn im Hinterhaus. Es stellt sich heraus: von Micha aus Illertissen. Micha kenne ich seit 1994, wo wir im gleichen Bostoner Vorort als AuPairs waren. Da haben wir eine Menge gemeinsame Erinnerungen – und jedes Jahr werden es mehr, denn jedes Jahr sehen wir uns wieder (dann ist der dritte im Bunde, Stefan, auch dabei). Aber zurück zum Päckchen: voller Mini-Adventskalender! Sichert euch diesen wunderbaren kleinen Gag für liebe Menschen in eurem Umfeld – mit 1,80 Euro seid ihr dabei!
And then, just when I thought that the fundraiser is all set up: there’s a package waiting with your neighbor. It turns out: from Micha in Illertissen. I’ve known Micha since 1994 when we were both Au Pairs in the same Boston, MA suburb. We share many, many memories – and every year, a few more are added because we meet for a reunion (Stefan always complementing our threesome). But back to the package: filled with miniature advent calendars! Be sure to get a few of these for some nice people you know – you can get them for 1,80 Euros each!
