Dieses Foto ist zugegebenermaßen schon eine Woche alt… und schon nachmittags war die ganze weiße Pracht wieder weg… aber habt ihr das gehört von dem Wahnsinnsschneefall in Alaska? Da fielen in 90 Minuten ungefähr 40 cm Schnee – über ein Meter nach 12 Stunden. Irgendwo unterwegs sein will man dann ja nicht unbedingt, aber während man schön zuhause sitzt?

This picture is a week old… and in the afternoon of that day already this winter wonderland had disappeared again… but have you heard of these heavy snowfalls in Alaska? They had 15 inches (about 40 cm) in 90 minutes – and more than 40 inches (about a meter) after 12 hours. I certainly wouldn’t want to be out on the road in that kind of weather… but while sitting at home, safe and sound?

Das Bild oben ist allerdings nicht aus Alaska, sondern vom Brocken im Harz (so gefunden in der Gruppe Winterdienst-Bilder auf Facebook, Fotos von Lucas Steinhoff). Gefallen sind ca. anderthalb Meter, aber es gibt gigantische Schneeverwehungen:
