Bingo!


Heute habe ich Bingo gespielt – die neue Jingle Belles Herausforderung. Drei Komponenten aus einer Reihe sind in der Karte zu verwenden, entweder horizontal, vertikal oder diagonal. Ich habe mich für die Variante diagonal entschieden, santa-flower-ribbon.

I’ve been playing bingo today – the latest challenge over at the Jingle Belles. You play by using all three elements in one row – horizontal, vertical or diagonal. I went with santa-flower-ribbon.

… und musste mich ein bisschen beeilen, um noch halbwegs Tageslicht zu haben für ein Foto. Das wird immer schwieriger. Es riecht schon nach Kastanien, wenn ich morgens zum Bahnhof fahre. Also, eigentlich riecht es nach angemoderten Blättern, aber irgendwie verbinde ich das mit Kastanien. Die hängen aber noch auf den Bäumen. Und riechen eigentlich nicht nach viel.

… and I had to hurry up a bit so as to have some daylight left for the pictures. It gets more and more difficult. It already smells like chestnuts when I cycle to the train station in the mornings. Well, actually it smells like decaying leaves but somehow that translates to chestnuts in my half-asleep brain. They are in fact still on the trees. And don’t smell that much.

Schokoladensoufflé / Chocolate soufflé

Der Freebie zur erfolgreichen Schlafzimmerrenovierung ist vergeben! Vielen Dank an alle Teilnehmer – auch für weitere Inspirationen zur Gestaltung. Über einen Fernseher habe ich während der Grippe-Attacke vor 4 Wochen nachgedacht… und das Bücherregal ist noch nicht entschieden.

I had myself considered a TV when I was down with the flu four weeks ago… and I haven’t quite decided about the book shelf yet.

Es gab keine richtige Antwort – und ich habe ja auch nicht wirklich damit gerechnet. Ich habe das Teil übrigens in der Hand, mein Daumen fungiert also als Maßstab. Vergiss also die Hibiskusblüte. All jene, die auf Samen tippten, lagen schonmal ganz gut. Es handelt sich um eine Art der Violaceae, der Veilchen. Es sind Stiefmütterchen. Aus meinem höchst eigenen Kasten. So lange hatte ich sie sonst nie – und werde wohl mal versuchen, im Frühjahr meine eigenen zu ziehen! Aber hier nun die Gewinnerin:

Nobody provided the right answer – and I hadn’t expected anybody to do that. I’m holding it in my hand, by the way, so my thumb gives you an idea of scale. So forget about the hibiscus bloom. All those who guessed it was some sort of seeds were close. They are of the genus violoceae, a viola. They are pansies. From my very own flower box. I’ve never kept them that long – and I guess I will try to grow next year’s spring planting from seeds! But now for the winner:

Q – is for Quilting


Ein Tag mit Ausschlafen und ohne Hektik und schon sitze ich wieder am Basteltisch. Endlich. Und da kam mir die laufende ABC Christmas Challenge gerade recht: Q is for Quilting. Man soll also mit Papier einen Quilt/Patchwork nachempfinden.

One calm day and sleeping in (sort of) late and I get a chance to sit down in my creative nook again. Finally. And the current ABC Christmas Challenge is perfect: Q is for Quilting. Paper quilting, that is.

Abgesehen von der Sternform nicht zwingend weihnachtlich… aber je länger ich auf den glitzernden Rand schaue, umso überzeugter bin ich. Bis bald!

Apart from the star shape it isn’t necessarily Christmassy I guess… but the longer I look at the glittery frame, the more I like it as a Christmas card. Take care!
