Was soll ich sagen?! Kurz und schmerzlos: es hat geschneit!! Hier auf La Palma… Heute morgen war es erst nur Regen, Regen, Regen. Der alte Optimist in mir ist dann trotzdem irgendwann schonmal nach Los Llanos gefahren, denn es würde doch bestimmt aufklaren und dann würde ich weiter… entweder zum Wandern nach Las Tricias oder zur Dokumentation der Seidenherstellung nach El Paso. Aber es wurde nicht besser. Also bin ich unverrichteter Dinge zurück gefahren – und als sich der morgens sogar die Berge umhüllende Nebel lichtete, traute ich meinen Augen kaum: SCHNEE. Und er ist auch heute Nachmittag noch da. Irgendwas läuft hier falsch.

What’s there to say? I’ll be brief: there’s snow on La Palma… This morning is was just rain, rain, rain and the good old optimist that I am I took off for Los Llanos anyway thinking it had to stop at some point. And then I’d move on either to Las Tricias for some hiking or to El Paso for a look at silk production. But it wouldn’t improve. So I just went back – and when the fog that had veiled the mountains all morning lifted I didn’t believe my eyes: SNOW. And it’s still there this afternoon. Something is very wrong here.

So habe ich mir dann eine Massage gegönnt und nun das Gefühl, zum ersten Mal seit Monaten aufrecht zu gehen. Man hat mir sehr ans Herz gelegt, das in Deutschland mal genauer ansehen zu lassen… werde ich dann wohl auch tun. Aber hier gab’s auch für Mittwoch noch Termine 😉

So I went to have a massage instead and now feel that I’m walking upright for the first time in months. It was warmly recommended that I have this checked closely in Germany… I guess that’s what I’ll do then. But they had a free slot on Wednesday, too 😉

Derweil werde ich zum Stammkunden in dieser Cocktailbar, wo es nachmittags auch Cappuchino gibt. Ich habe noch gar nicht erwähnt, dass ich die Preise hier unschlagbar finde, oder? Ich war ja eingestellt auf eher teuer, von wegen Insel und was weiß ich… aber nein. Cappuchino und eine Cola inkl. kostenlosem Wi-Fi 3,50 €. Ich glaube, ich habe in letzter Zeit „zuviel“ Urlaub im teuren Frankreich gemacht… Heute Abend werden dann mal die Mojitos getestet!

I’m getting to be a regular at this cocktailbar that also serves cappuchino in the afternoons. I haven’t mentioned yet that the prices here are more than alright, have I? I was expecting it to be on the expensive side, being an island and what not… but no. Cappuchino and a coke are to be had for 3,50 € – free wi-fi included. I think I was vacationing in expensive France „too much“ recently… Tonight we’ll check out the mojitos!
