Leichtes Gähnen, schon wieder Dörferblickschleife? Keine Sorge: hier gab’s viel neues zu sehen und das fängt schon mit dem Foto oben an – diesen Blick auf die Kirmutscheider Kirche und die Schule kann man eigentlich nur in den Wintermonaten genießen. Auch bei diesem Versuch allerdings war die Kirche verschlossen.

A subtle yawn, Dörferblickschleife again? Don’t worry: I discovered quite a few new things and that starts with the motif above – this view of the church and school in Kirmutscheid is possible only in the winter months. As always, though, the church was locked.

Das wird heute ganz klar fotolastig, doch auch hier abweichend von der Norm: kaum Blumen!

This will be quite a picture-heavy post but even that is different: basically no flowers!

Dafür aber die neueste Attraktion: ein Albino-Eichhörnchen (wie ich vermute) – ich hoffe, der Fuchs hat andere Interessen. Gesehen habe ich es kurz vor der Kurve, die den Blick auf obige Kirche freigibt.

But look at the latest attraction: an albino squirrel (I assume) – I hope the fox’s interests lie elsewhere. I spotted it just before I reached the turn that allows for the above view of the church.

Am Himmel ging es auch heiß her – ich halte den Greifvogel für einen Bussard. Und ihr macht euch keine Vorstellung davon, wie schwierig es ist, einen Zitronenfalter abzulichten. Die wirken deutlich hektischer als andere Schmetterlinge und scheinen im ruhenden Zustand nie die Flügel auseinanderzufalten. Alter Falter.

A look to the sky also offered impressive sights – I believe that is a hawk. And you have no idea how hard it is to take a picture of the common brimstone. I feel they are a lot more restless than other butterflies and don’t seem to show their wings while in parking position. But there were dozens of them!

Ganz ohne Blume geht’s dann doch nicht – und einige Marienkäfer hätte ich gerne in meinen Garten umgesiedelt… die scheinen da nicht heimisch werden zu wollen.

I can’t do no flowers, it seems – and I would have loved to move some of the ladybugy to my garden… they have a hard time making it their home.

Die Dörferblickschleife lohnt sich zu jeder Jahreszeit – fehlt nur noch die Wellenbank am Aussichtsturm 🙂

Dörferblickschleife is worth the hike in every season – I hope the wavy bench is back soon, too 🙂
