Eine fiese Erkältung hält mich heute trotz wunderschönen Frühlingswetters hauptsächlich auf der Couch. Aber betrachten wir das Positive: ich mache Fortschritte in der Lektüre meines Mega-Wälzers und komme auch zu diesem Blogeintrag, der schon lange geplant war.

A nasty cold leaves me couch-bound today, despite gorgeous spring weather. But as I tend to look at the bright side of things I’m happy to make progress with my „mega book“ and get around to writing this entry which has been on my plate for a while.

Schon vor Monaten kam mir die Idee, das erste Lebensjahr einer kleinen Freundin in 12 prägnanten Fotos in einem Leporello festzuhalten und drumherum ein bisschen „scrapbooking“ zu betreiben. Nun ist es fertig… und eigentlich wollte ich es gar nicht mehr abgeben.

At some point last fall I got the idea to document the first year of a little friend with 12 pictures in a „leporello“ and add some scrapbooking here and there. Now it’s finished… and I didn’t really want to give it away.

Dieser Leporello besteht aus 12 quadratischen Seiten und kann entweder für spätere Jahre auf ca. 17×17 cm zusammengefaltet aufbewahrt werden oder auch aufgestellt eine ganze Fensterbank zieren… obwohl dabei auf Dauer die Farbe sicher leidet.

It consists of 12 suqare pages and you can either keep it all folded to the size of appr. 17×17 cm neatly stacked away somewhere for later years or put it up decoratively on a window sill… but I’m sure the colors will fade when choosing the latter option.

Ich finde, es ist ein cooles Geschenk und habe gleich noch einige Leporellos besorgt…
I think it’s a cool present and went right out to get some more leporellos…
