… war die Inspiration für das Thema der März-Challenge bei CCAYR. Bei den Karten sind zwei Sorten gemustertes grünes Papier zu verwenden. Grün ist es geworden – aber noch viel mehr. Diese Karte hat großes Potenzial, mein Liebling 2012 zu werden. Und auch, wenn man seit diesem Monat keine 5 Karten mehr für diese Challenge basteln muss, werden da mit Sicherheit noch einige folgen.

… was the inspiration for this month’s challenge at CCAYR: use two kinds of patterned green paper. And green it is – but so much more. This card has huge potential to be my favorite in 2012. And despite the fact that as of this month one card is enough to qualify (not five like previously) I’m very sure that more of this kind are to follow.

Und während ich so mit meinem Bildbearbeitungsprogramm rumgefummelt habe, ist auch das Produkt links rausgekommen… Die Nase gefällt mir sehr gut, auch wenn es kein Rentier ist!

And while I was fooling around with my image editing software the picture to the left came into being… I love the nose, even if it’s not a reindeer!

Hm. Ich war kreativ. Irgendwie. Genauer gesagt habe ich mich eigentlich gequält mit der laufenden Challenge bei den JingleBelles: Neutral Noel. Ein Foto sollte als Inspiration dienen… ein schönes Foto:

Mmh. I’ve been creative. Sort of. To tell you the truth: it wasn’t exactly fun. But I wanted to participate in the current challenge over at the JingleBelles, Neutral Noel. It was a photo inspiration… a very nice picture:

Und ich habe viele schöne Kreationen gesehen. Aber ich kann einfach nicht wirklich mit farblos. Ich hätte auch einfach eines der Motive nehmen und weniger farblos sein können, aber irgendwie wollte ich es doch wissen. Jetzt weiß ich es.

And I’ve seen many beautiful creations. But I’m just not the neutral type I guess. I could have chosen a motive and worked with that, too, but I wanted to try. And so I did.

Bringen wir zum Abschluss noch etwas Farbe rein. Ein Florist werde ich auch nicht mehr, aber die Kreation gefällt mir doch ganz gut 😉

Let’s bring some color to this post. I’ll never be a florist either but I quite like this creation 😉

Es musste etwas geschehen. Am Donnerstag schrie ich mit Adele in der Küche rum, so dass ich schon dachte, ich werde rausgeschmissen. Dabei war es gut geplant: unter und über mir je ein Badezimmer. Freitag dann der irre Entschluss, die Nachbarn zu schonen und mit Kopfhörern zu hören… und natürlich trotzdem mitzusingen. Ich sag nur Pretty Woman. Ohne Badeschaum. Aber es hat geholfen: der kreative Output läuft. Neben unterstützenden Maßnahmen für den Osterhasen gibt es schon zwei Karten zur Geburt… und eine Weihnachtskarte.

Something had to happen. I was screeching along with Adele in my kitchen on Thursday – it was loud enough to fear an eviction. Even though I did have a plan: there’s bathrooms above and underneath my kitchen so chances were people wouldn’t be too closely affected. Then on Friday the ill-advised decision to use headphones to give the neighbors a break. Pretty Woman is all I’m saying. Without the foam. But it worked: my creative output is humming. There were supporting measures for the Easter bunny and two cards for new babies… and a Christmas card.

Bei Winter Wonderland läuft die A Christmas Scene Challenge… Nach einiger Überlegung fand ich dieses Lebkuchenhaus passend. Und so sieht die Karte als ganzes aus:

Die Sparkles Christmas Challenge feiert im Februar ihren ersten Geburtstag – Glückwunsch! – mit dem üblichen Wettbewerb und einem sog. Blog Hop, also ein Bloghüpfen, wo man sich die Kreationen der Design Team Mitglieder bei Sparkles ansieht und kommentiert. Da habe ich noch einiges vor mir, aber hier schonmal die Karte nach dem Motto „Anything goes!“

Eigentlich wollte ich nur den Basteltisch aufräumen und fing an, die Motive, die auf einer Weihnachtskarte waren, auszuschneiden… und ziemlich schnell kam mir eine Idee, wie man sie verwenden könnte. Erst im Nachhinein habe ich bemerkt, dass sie die Voraussetzung für die Teilnahme an der Februar Challenge bei CCAYR erfüllen. Es müssen 5 Stück und Herzen drauf sein.

I had actually only wanted to clear my creative nook and started to cut out the images on a Christmas card I had received… and pretty soon I had an idea of how to use them. It was only afterwards that I noticed that they meet the requirement of the February challenge at CCAYR. There need to be five of them and they need to have hearts on them.

Ja, dass es fünf geworden sind, kann man klar erkennen. Aber findet man die Herzen?

Yes, you can clearly tell that there are five on them. But can you find the hearts?

Ich gebe zu, das Herzthema ist etwas subtil geraten, aber sie sind da, auf allen fünfen:

Ich liege verdammt gut im Rennen mit den mindestens 120 Karten, die ich im Dezember brauche 😉

I’m pretty well placed going for at least 120 cards I need in December 😉

Zugegeben: es sind vielleicht nicht genau die „Stockings“, um die es in der laufenden Challenge bei Sparkles Christmas Challenge geht, aber wie hätte ich dieser fantastischen Briefmarke widerstehen können, die mich mit der letzten Weihnachtspost erreichte? Briefmarken scheinen ja in 2012 wieder eine größere Rolle in meinem Leben zu spielen… Wie auch immer: es geht also um Stockings, und das ist mein eher unorthodoxer Beitrag dazu!

I admit it: they are probably not exactly the kind of stockings that are supposed to be included at this month’s challenge over at Sparkles Christmas Challenge but how could I have passed on using this awesome stamp that reached me in the Christmas mail? It seems that stamps are playing a more prominent role for me in 2012… Anyhow, it’s about stockings and this is my rather unorthodox contribution!

Und es gefällt mir, dass eine schwedische Briefmarke es zu einem „Nordic Holiday“ Hintergrund geschafft hat 😉 Habt ein schönes Restwochenende!

Gemacht sind sie ja nun schon ein paar Tage, aber es hat ein bisschen gedauert, bis ich mal die Möglichkeit hatte, bei Tageslicht ein Foto davon zu machen. Und die Farben kommen trotzdem nur so la la rüber.

They’ve been sitting here waiting for a few days alreaday but just this weekend I managed to take a picture of them in daylight. And still the colors didn’t come out right.

Auf den ersten Blick könnte man ja meinen, dass es bei dieser January 2012 Challenge bei CCAYR darum geht, einen Elche einzubauen. Aber weit gefehlt. Es geht um nicht traditionelle Farben. Bei mir waren das zum Beispiel diverse Pastellfarben und schwarz. Ein bisschen embossing hätte man auch noch machen können, aber ich darauf habe ich verzichtet.

At first sight you’d think that this January 2012 Challenge at CCAYR is about moose. But no. It’s about non-traditional colors. I chose a few pastels and black for example. Some embossing would have been welcome as well but I decided to pass on it.

So langsam nehme ich wieder Fahrt auf, ich fühlte mich schon ein wenig eingerostet, was die Produktion von Karten angeht. Weit über einen Monat herrschte Tatenlosigkeit an dieser Front. Und so richtig fokussiert bin ich noch nicht, aber es wird schon noch werden…

I seem to be getting back into the swing of things, I did feel a little rusty when it came to making cards. I hadn’t made any for well over a month. And I’m not really foucssed quite yet but I’m working on it…

Die erste Challenge der Jingle Belles im neuen Jahr schien mir bestens geeignet, wieder auf Touren zu kommen. Sie heißt No Time Like the Present(s) und es geht darum, entweder Geschenkpapier zu verwenden oder Geschenke auf der Karte darzustellen. Von dem kleinen Rest oben hatte ich mich nicht trennen können und erstmal eine der kleinen Inuit verarbeitet:

The Jingle Belles‘ first challenge of 2012 is No Time Like the Present(s) and is about either using gift wrap or show presents on your card. I just couldn’t part with this little scrap of an adorable paper I used this last year and made a card with one of the inuits first:
