„Komm in Form für die Feiertage“ ist das Motto bei den Jingle Belles, aber es geht nicht um Gewichtsverlust. Vielmehr ist die Herausforderung, eine Karte zu gestalten, die nicht quadratisch oder rechteckig ist. Mir war es nach einem „stocking“… und irgendwann brauche ich mal einen offenen Kamin, um auch echte davor aufhängen zu können…

„Shape up for the holidays“ is this fortnight’s motto over at the Jingle Belles, but it’s not about weight loss. The challenge is to create a card that is not square or rectangular. I felt like going for a stocking… and one of these days I need to have a fireplace at which to hang the real ones, too…

Alles so furchtbar aufregend heute! Feiertag, ein Platz unter den ersten drei bei Winter Wonderland mit der Karte zu Holly and Ivy, heute startet ein neuer Weihnachtsblog, der World Card Making Day steht am 5.10.2013 ins Haus… und dank des Feiertags ziehe ich diesen 2 Tage vor!

Oh, the excitement! National holiday, a top three at Winter Wonderland’s Holly and Ivy challenge last week, a new Christmas Challenge blog will start today and World Card Making Day is just around the corner on October 5, 2013… thanks to the holiday today, I just moved it up two days!

Mit Winter Wonderland habe ich angefangen, und damit geht es weiter. Diese Woche gibt es eine Photo Inspiration: die Krippenszene links. Ich habe mich von den Schafen inspirieren lassen, die mir nach dem Trip nach Yorkshire im Mai sehr ans Herz gewachsen sind. Und wenn man nun erinnerungshalber in regelmäßigen Abständen niedliche Schaf-Postkarten aus Yorkshire erhält, bleiben sie auch präsent. Aber keine Sorge: sie sind nicht die neuen Elche!

I started out with Winter Wonderland and continue down that lane. They have a photo inspiration this week: the nativity scene above. I was inspired by the sheep that I really came to like during our trip to Yorkshire this past May. Surprisingly, the cute sheep cards that continue to reach me from our firends in Yorkshire don’t change that a bit. But make no mistake: they are not the new moose!

Der Digi Stamp (inkl. des Texts) ist Teil eines Pakets von der Doodle Pantry. Dazu gehört auch Papier zum selbst ausdrucken. Aber soweit bin ich noch nicht… Und nun auf zu mehr Karten! Einen schönen Feiertag euch allen!

Knöpfe sind gefragt bei Holly Jolly in dieser Woche. Das Blumenkorb-Motiv habe ich dieses Jahr schonmal verwendet, aber doch in einer ganz anderen Form. Nun mit Knöpfen!

„Holly and Ivy“ heißt es diese Woche bei Winter Wonderland, also „Ilex und Efeu“. Es wurde von einigen schon als Ilex ODER Efeu interpretiert – dem schließe ich mich an und habe mich auf Ilex eingeschossen.

This week’s challenge over at Winter Wonderland is about „Holly and Ivy“. As even some DT members interpreted this as holly OR ivy, I went along… and made up my mind for holly.

Die Karte war mal wieder Fleißarbeit – jedes Blatt einzeln aufgeklebt. Und wenn der Hintergrund tatsächlich aussieht wie Wand, dann könnte es daran liegen, dass ich Tapete verwendet habe. Das kleine gestickte Deckchen schien mir passend… hat die Oma meiner schwedischen Brieffreundin vor mehr als 20 Jahren gemacht – zeitlos schön.

This card was a matter of patience again – every leaf was glued on separately. And if you feel the backgound somehow looks like a wall that might be because I used real wallpaper. The little embroidered doily was made by my Swedish penpal’s Grandma more than 20 years ago – of timeless beauty.

„Vintage“ ist ja noch schwieriger als die Verwendung von Schleifen… aber ich stelle mich der Herausforderung bei den Jingle Belles.

Bei 52CCT heißt das Motto der Farben-Challenge im September Rot, Weiß und „Kraft“… was ich als Pappe interpretiere. Den kleinen Wicht in seinem wunderbaren Pullover habe ich schon lange in meinem Vorrat – es ist kein Stempel, sondern war mal Streudeko, mit vielen Freunden.

The September Color Challenge at 52CCT is about Red, White and Kraft. The little guy in the adorable sweater has been in my stash forever and is not a stamp but was part of a ready-made package for decoration.

Wie gesagt, mein Wochenende war kreativ… Und bei der „Au Natural“ Challenge von Holly Jolly hat es ein „Top Pick“ gegeben – das sind nicht die Gewinner des Preises, aber jedes Mitglied des Design Teams wählt unter allen Teilnehmern seine Lieblingskarte aus. Danke, Paige! So kann es weitergehen… Und nun: bis bald!

As I said: my weekend has been creative… And it’s paid off already: I was Paige’s Top Pick at last week’s „Au natural“ challenge at Holly Jolly– thank you, Paige! Maybe I’m on a lucky streak… For now: take care!

Am Freitag kam die Meldung: auf der Zugspitze liegen 45 cm Schnee. Was man da für wunderbare Schneemänner machen könnte… ich begnüge mich erstmal mit den Schneemännern für die Challenge bei Winter Wonderland, „Frosty the Snowman“. Kommt bei diesem Motiv nicht Freude auf?

We were told in the news last Friday: there are 45cm (would that be a foot and a half?) of snow on Zugspitze, Germany’s highest mountain. Great conditions to build a snowman or two… But for a while yet (I hope) I have to make do with this happy bunch for the challenge at Winter Wonderland, „Frosty, the Snowman“.

Das ist mal kein digitaler Stempel, sondern ein richtiger von Janlynn… ich habe für die Kolorierung eine Ewigkeit gebraucht, aber das Ergbenis gefällt mir. Frohen Dienstag!

„Recipe“, also „Rezept“, heißt es bei den ABC Christmas Challenges. Und das Rezept lautet: 3 Papiere, 2 Schleifen, 1 Bild. Mit den Schleifen habe ich ja immer das größte Problem… aber es wurde gelöst.

„Recipe“ is what it’s all about at ABC Christmas Challenges. And the recipe goes: 3 papers, 2 ribbons, 1 image. Ribbons are always a problem for me… but it was solved.

Das Bild ist nicht neu, aber ich finde die Kerlchen immer wieder niedlich. Sie sind von AngelsLanding und waren einst mein erster Versuch mit digitalen Stempeln. Und wie mir scheint, wird es auch der dritte Beitrag bei Sparkles‘ „nicht-traditionelle Farben“ diesen Monat.

This image is not new but I really like these cute little guys. They are from AngelsLanding and were my first attempt at using digital stamps. And now it will also be my third entry this month over at Sparkles‘ „non-traditional colors“ challenge.

Der Tag war zwar nicht ganz so verregnet und grau, wie befürchtet, aber ich habe mich von meinem Plan, wie wild zu basteln, nicht mehr abbringen lassen. So schaffe ich dann auch noch eine ziemlich Last-Minute-Teilnahme bei der Challenge von Holly Jolly diese Woche, „Au Natural…“ – etwas aus der Natur soll auf der Karte zu finden sein.

The day wasn’t quite as rainy and grey as I had feared but I decided not to abandon my plans of paper crafting all day long. And so I also managed to make a card „Au Natural…“ for this week’s challenge at Holly Jolly – something from nature is to be inlcuded.

Mir scheint, sie ist nicht zwingend weihnachtlich – könnte auch als Herbstkarte durchgehen. Aber für mich sind solche Zapfen unabänderlich mit Weihnachten verbunden. Mit Herbst sind eher Pflaumen verbunden und da gibt es noch den Gewinner des Pflaumenkompotts zu verkünden… *TROMMELWIRBEL*:

I feel it isn’t necessarily a Christmas card – it could also be a fall greeting card. But to me pine cones form an essential part of Christmas. Fall is more about plums and there’s a winner to announce, the winner of the plum compote… *DRUM ROLL*:

Herzlichen Glückwunsch, Bigggi! Jetzt geht das Kompott ja nicht an die Mutter des Radsportlers, den ich gerade noch auf den letzten Kilometern der Vuelta verfolge… Gibt es für das Team Argos-Shimano heute noch einen Etappensieg, werde ich noch ein Glas springen lassen! Einen Sonderpreis müsste ich noch ausloben für Werners kreativen Kommentar, der wegen des Zeitlimits leider nicht mehr berücksichtigt werden konnte:

Ist der Rotwein auch verkocht,
probieren hätt´ ich gern gemocht.
Doch leider war ich nicht zu flott
für pflaumig-launigen Kompott.

Congratulations, Bigggi! Now that the compote is not going to the mother of the road bicycle racer who I’m following on the last kilometers of the Vuelta… Should Team Argos-Shimano win this stage today, there will be another jar going out – to celebrate! It looks like I have to think about prizes for most creative entries, too – Werner wrote a short poem, unfortunately after noon today so the comment didn’t qualify for the draw… and I do not feel skilled enough to translate poetry and leave it at the German quote above!

Da kommen doch mal zwei Dinge zusammen. Die UnstampaBelles wünschen Projekte, die aus Resten hergestellt wurden und Sparkles Christmas Challenges fordert Karten in nicht traditionellen Farben. Und diese Karte trifft beide Kriterien… bei Sparkles ist es diesen Monat mein zweiter Beitrag.

With this card I can serve two purposes. The UnstampaBelles ask for projects made from scraps and over at Sparkles Christmas Challenges they are (still) going for non-traditional colors. This card meets both criteria… and will be my second entry at Sparkles this month.

Im letzten Jahr habe ich bereits ähnliche Karten gemacht, aber diese ist neu. Alles Reste, die kleinen Bilder sind von einer Karte, die ich selbst bekommen habe. Und den Stern… den habe ich schon ewig.

I’ve made cards like this last year already but this particular one is new. All scraps, the little images are from a card I received. And the star has been sitting in my stash forever.
