Insipiert zu dieser Karte haben mich die Jingle Belles, wo es noch bis Mittwoch um Weihnachtslieder (Oh, Tannenbaum!) geht, aber ich stelle die Karte auch bei den folgenden Challenges ein:

Es wird weiter mit Stempeln und Papieren im CAS-Stil (Clean And Simple) experimentiert – und dieser Stempel von Wild Rose Studio ist ganz neu. Den habe ich irgendwo gesehen und MUSSTE ihn haben. Hat sich gelohnt, oder?

I continue to experiment with stamps and papers – and this stamp from Wild Rose Studio is all new. I had seen it somewhere and it was a must have. It was worth the investment, don’t you think?

Auch in den letzten Tagen habe ich noch mit verschiedenen bezahlbaren Papieren experimentiert. Es geht mir darum, gestempelte Motive mit Copics (alkoholbasierten Stiften) zu kolorieren, ohne dass die Farbe durch das Papier „durchblutet“. Dieser Test wurde auf DCP 300g/m² von Clairefontaine gemacht… und es funktioniert, so lange ich ein ganz kleines bisschen vorsichtig bin und nicht zuviel zu vermischen versuche. Vielleicht ist es ja dann auch eher ein Technik- als ein Materialproblem.

Over the past few days, I have been experimenting with different papers. I’m still looking for an affordable paper that I can color with Copis (alcohol-based markers) without the colors bleeding through to the other side. This is the result of a test with DCP 300 gsm from Clairefontaine… and it works as long as I blend with moderation. Maybe in the end it’s more a matter of technique than material.

Das Motiv passt bestens zur neuen Challenge bei Sparkle Christmas Challenges: „Christmas Animals“. Da stelle ich die Karte ein – auch wenn ich vergessen habe, ein Foto der ganzen Karte zu machen. Ich habe nur eins vom ersten Versuch: da habe ich erst nach dem Stempeln festgestellt, dass der Gruß zwei Fehler enthält 😦

This motif is perfect for the new challenge over at Sparkles Christmas Challenges: „Christmas Animals“. I hope it’s not a problem, though, that I forgot to take a picture of the card as a whole… I only took one of the first try: unfortunately, I noticed only after stamping the sentiment that it has two mistakes 😦

Es war absolut nicht absehbar, wie kreativ dieses Wochenende werden würde – aber allein das Basteln bis tief in die Nacht von Samstag auf Sonntag hat da einiges bewirkt. Ich war total inspiriert von Mariannes „eindimensionaler“ Karte, die ihr euch hier ansehen könnt. Ein Stempel auf eine Karte, ohne viel Schnickschnack. Und das ist es bei mir geworden:

The past weekend has been very creative – and it certainly wasn’t cut out for it – but I crafted into the wee hours Saturday night/Sunday morning and that did a lot. I was very inspired by Marianne’s one-layer card that you can look at here. A stamp directly on the cardstock, no frills. That’s what I came up with:

Interessiert habe ich auch Mariannes Anmerkung gelesen, dass sie Karton verwendet hat, der das „bleeding“ der Farbe bis auf die Innenseite verhindert hat. Sie sprach von „120 pound cardstock“ und der Rechner, den ich online gefunden hatte, gab für mein üblicherweise genutztes Papier 109 pound (160 g/m²) an… und es suppt durch wie blöd. Ich kläre das dann mit Innenausstattung für die Karte (siehe unten), aber wenn man sich das sparen könnte…? Nach diversen Versuchen mit verschiedensten Papieren denke ich, es muss mindestens 250, eher 300 g/m² sein. Hatte ich nicht da – wird später getestet!

Marianne’s post made for interestig reading concerning the cardstock she used that avoided „bleeding“. She mentioned „120 pound cardstock“ and the online converter I found translated my 160 g/m² to 109 pounds… and it bleeds like crazy. I work around that by working on the inside of my card as well (see below) but if I could skip that…? I have tried a number of different papers I had at home but I think it must be at least 250, more likely 300 g/m² to make it work. I’ll try that when I have it!

Es kommt mir vor, als hätte ich das wenige „Vintage-fähige“ Material, das ich besitze, einzig und allein für die alljährliche Challenge zu diesem Thema bei den Jingle Belles, dieses Jahr unter dem Titel „Spirits of Christmas Past“. Es wurde eine lange Nacht…

Offenbar gerate ich in Fahrt beim Summer Link-up von Merry Monday, wo noch bis Monatsende praktisch alles geht. Ich habe mich von der Challenge #236 „Stockings“ inspirieren lassen und gleichzeitig auch noch eine Stickarbeit von Pauline aus England wiederverwertet.

Bei Merry Monday ist Sommerpause und man kann sich bis Ende des Monats einfach eins der abgelaufenen Themen aussuchen und loslegen. Ich habe mich für #241 aus dem März entschieden, „Rot, grün und weiß“. Lag ein bisschen daran, dass ich die Santas noch von einem Projekt im vergangenen Jahr übrig hatte. Und so kam es dann auch zu mehreren Versionen…

Over at Merry Monday they’re still celebrating Christmas in July – up until the end of August you can choose from previous challenges. I went for #241 from March 2017, „Red, green and white“. The choice was a little influenced by the fact that I still had these Santas lying around from a project I did last year. And so there were different versions of it…
