Das Wetter der letzten Tage war absolut unbeschreiblich und ich weiß, dass ich mich wiederhole, aber: sobald ein bisschen Wind geht sieht es aus, als sei Diamantstaub in der Luft, alles glitzert. Dabei ist so gut wie kein Schnee da. Es ist sooo kalt und ich sah aus wie ein frisch gekochter Hummer, als ich heute Morgen von einer kleinen Runde zurückkam.

The weather has been nothing less than breathtakingly gorgeous for the past few days and I know I’m being repetitive but: as soon as the breeze picks up, it’s as if the air was filled with diamond dust, glittery. And there’s hardly any snow at all. It is soooo cold and I looked like a freshly cooked lobster when I came home from an early morning stroll today.

Ich gehöre ja nicht zu den Frühaufstehern, aber nachdem ich mich gestern Morgen am Schreibtisch unfassbar geärgert hatte, dass ich nicht besser organisiert noch vor Arbeitsbeginn draußen gewesen war, war der Entschluss für heute gefasst. Das Licht war nicht ganz so gut, aber es war trotzdem ein Genuss.

I’m certainly not an early bird but after I was so angry at myself for sitting at my desk yesterday morning, instead of going out on a stroll before I put the finishing touches to this month’s payroll, the plans for today were clear. The light wasn’t quite as beautiful but it was a delight nonetheless.

Weil ich gemerkt habe, dass mein Hirn wieder den Punkt erreicht hat, wo es einer Formatierung bedarf und der Montag eh frei ist, habe ich auch noch den kommenden Dienstag und Mittwoch frei genommen und werde einen 5-tägigen Wanderurlaub einlegen. Am Wochenende fange ich ganz langsam an (erstens zum Warmlaufen und dann wollen auch noch Muzen gebacken und Biathlon-WM geguckt werden), aber Montag geht’s dann los, drei Tage zwischen 11 und 22 km pro Tour. Drückt die Daumen, dass das Wetter mitspielt. Ich muss so richtig fertig werden, damit Ruhe einkehrt. Morgen geht’s hier los:

I’ve noticed that my brain has reached the point where a formatting is badly needed and as we have Monday off anyway (due to carnival, even if there is none), I decided to add Tuesday and Wednesday to that and will go on a 5-day hiking trip, home-based. The weekend will start out slow (first of all because I need to get going and then I will have my first shot at home-baked Muzen plus I don’t want to miss the biathlon world championship races), but Monday will have the first real deal, three days of between 11 and 22 km of hiking per day. Keep your fingers crossed that the weather allows… I have to reach that point of total exhaustion, of being too tired to think. I’ll start out here tomorrow:

Ganz andere Neuigkeiten gibt es von Larry zu berichten. Ich war auf einer Social Media Seite in eine Gruppe eingeladen, in der es eigentlich um stark übergewichtige Katzen geht (es ist der Winterspeck, den Larry angesetzt hat, aber sie will es mir nicht glauben – seit Monaten keine Jagdzüge mehr, aber lassen wir das) und weil es da eigentlich ziemlich witzig zugeht, dachte ich, ich stelle Larry mal vor. Drei Tage und 6.800 Likes und 407 Kommentare später verhandele ich jetzt, was ich als Social Media Manager des Stars so abgreifen könnte…

Meanwhile, Larry made for a whole different kind of news. I had been invited to a group about excessively overweight cats on a social media platform (it’s just a little pseudo hibernation extra in Larry’s case but she claims she’s as slim and fit as ever – well, it’s been MONTHS since she was last out hunting but don’t get me going on that) and as it’s been quite a lot of fun following the posts there, I thought I’d introduce Larry as well. Three days and 6.800 Likes and 407 comments later I’m now negotiating my share as the live-in celeb’s social media manager…
