Hier war wieder viel zu lange Ruhe – ich glaube, ich bin in ein verspätetes Sommerloch gefallen. Aber nachdem ich gleich heute morgen eine Radtour gemacht und am Rhein zum Tuckern der Schiffe ein wunderbares Buch zuende gelesen habe, gibt’s auch wieder neues von der Kreativfront.

It’s been quiet here for too long again – I think I might have hit a belated summer slump. But after I had done a little bike tour right this morning and finished a wonderful book sitting by the Rhine, listening to the chugging of the ships there are finally news to report from the creative front.

Diese einfache Weihnachtskarte mit dem Nikolaus auf „Schokolade“ habe ich in Anlehnung an die Challenge bei Winter Wonderland für ganz spezielle Freunde gemacht – für eine Freundin und ihren Mann in Norwegen. Die beiden waren vergangene Woche hier und wahrscheinlich war ich inspiriert. Und dass es gerade ein Nikolaus wurde, ist da besonders passend, denn als gebürtigen Niederländern ist den beiden Sinterklaas Anfang Dezember auch wichtiger als Weihnachten. Was ich in den mehr als 20 Jahren, die wir uns kennen, glaube ich immer vergessen habe.

This no nonsense Christmas card with Santa Claus on „chocolate“ was done for this week’s challenge at Winter Wonderland for special friends – a friend and her husband from Norway. They were visiting last week and most likely inspired me. It’s particularly fitting that it turned out to be a Santa Claus card because they are originally from the Netherlands and therefore Sinterklaas at the beginning of December is much more important to them than Christmas. Which I think I’ve forgotten just about every year for the 20 or so years that we’ve known each other.

Und wie das Glück es so will, kann ich diese Karte gleich auch noch in die September Challenge beim Sparkles Forum einreichen. Dort soll es ein Santa sein… und da dieses schöne Motiv auch gleich den Glitter mitgeliefert bekam, könnte es kaum passender kommen.

As luck would have it, I can also enter this card in this month’s challenge at the Sparkles Forum. They ask for Santa to be the motif… and as this Santa came with glitter I think it’s more than I could ask for.
