In einer sehr, sehr stressigen Wochen ein kurzer Beitrag aus der kreativen Ecke: Bei Winter Wonderland sind Tiere gefragt, wie auch bei Sparkles Christmas Challenges. Bei ABC Christmas Challenges entweder „H for Hats“ und/oder „I for Ice“. Dieses Pinguinpärchen dürfte bei allen passen. Warum nur gibt’s nicht noch eine mit Sternen?!

In this very, very hectic week just a brief greeting from my creative nook: Winter Wonderland is asking for animals to be included while over at ABC Christmas Challenges it’s either „H for Hats“ ot „I for Ice“ – or both. Over at Sparkles Christmas Challenges the motto is „Feature a Creature“ as well… I think this penguin couple meets the requirements at all three of the challenges. Why isn’t there one about stars, too?!

Übrigens… da gab es eine Nachfrage: ja, man kann das ganze Jahr die auf diesem Blog gezeigten Karten kaufen. Die Kaufpreis geht in voller Höhe in den Online-Basar zugunsten des Elisabeth-Hospiz in Lohmar, der auch dieses Jahr wieder im November stattfinden wird. Je nach Aufwand variieren die Preise, zumeist, wie auch hier, liegt er jedoch bei 3,90 Euro. Doch nun: gute Nacht!

By the way… as that question popped up after my last post: yes, you can purchase my cards year-round. The full amount will be added to the proceeds of the online fundraiser for the Elisabeth Hospice in Lohmar that will take place again in November. The prices vary by input but usually – as is the case with this one – they can be purchased at 3.90 Euros. But now: good night!

Ein Weilchen ist es noch hin, bis es wieder Reiseberichte geben wird… bis dahin lasse ich mal die kreative Ader pulsieren. Nach unserem Besuch auf der Creativa vor drei Wochen habe ich einiges zu testen, u.a. diesen neuen Stempel von gummiapan. Die Fotos hätte ich lichttechnisch lieber morgen früh gemacht, aber da ist noch die March Technique Challenge bei 52CCT – die in weniger als zwei Stunden zuende geht. Teilnahmebedingung: Embossing in jeglicher Form. Die machen sich gut, die Candy Canes im Hintergrund, oder?

Bear with me a few more weeks until I can post on travels again… up until then I’ll let my creative streak come to the fore. At Creativa fair three weeks ago I got this new stamp from gummiapan (among quite a few other things, naturally). I would have preferred to take the pictures tomorrow morning, light-wise, but in less than two hours the March Technique Challenge over at 52CCT will end. It’s about embossing, any kind. I really like the candy canes in the background. Do you?

Mit dem Gesamtdesign der Karte bietet es sich zudem an, sie bei der laufenden Challenge bei Merry Monday: Red & White unterzubringen. Da war ich auch schon lange nicht mehr dabei.

My choice of color also qualifies for this week’s challenge over at Merry Monday: Red & White. It’s been ages since I last participated there.

So insgesamt hätte man kaum besser ins Wochenende starten können: praller Sonnenschein, Saison-Eröffnungs-Spaghetti-Eis… und unter den erwählten drei bei der Vintage Challenge der Jingle Belles 🙂 Da hoffen wir mal, dass der Rest des Wochenendes da mithalten kann!

All in all I couldn’t have had a better start into the weekend: gorgeous sunshine, first spaghetti ice-cream of the season… and featured participant at the Vintage Challenge over at the Jingle Belles 🙂 Let’s hope the rest of the weekend is up to par!

Dieses Jahr hatte einen holprigen Start – das erste Quartal ist vergangen, ohne dass ich in nennenswertem Umfang kreativ gewesen wäre. Den Ostermontag hatte ich mir extra dafür freigeschossen. Es hat nicht nur funktioniert… es hat trotz widrigster Umstände funktioniert. Die liebste Challenge ist mir immer die der Jingle Belles und da sollte es auch losgehen. Da geht es noch bis morgen um den „Spirit of Christmas Past“ – mit eines der schwierigsten Themen für mich, wenn man „auf alt“ machen soll.

2018 had been off to a rocky start on the crafty side of things – the first quarter passed without any creative output to speak of. But I have managed to have Easter Monday all to myself, total bliss. So not only did it finally happen, it happened against all odds. My favorite challenge, I will admit it, is the Jingle Belles‘ so that’s where I went for inspiration. But then: oh my! They are celebrating the Spirit of Christmas Past up until tomorrow – and vintage always poses a particular challenge to me.

Ich mach’s kurz… es sind sieben Karten geworden – drei stelle ich vor. Und der Nikolaus ist auf allen die Hauptperson.

I’ll keep it brief… I made seven cards – and will show you three of them. Santa is the focus of them all.

Und weiter geht’s mit meiner „Beute“ von Søstrene Grene – und die Quick and Easy Challenge bei Crimbo Crackers bietet sich an – einmal entschieden, wie ich vorgehen will, ist die Karte in wenigen Minuten fertig. Die foam pads unter der Schneeflocke waren dabei das einzig irgendwie zeitraubende.

And here’s more made with my „prey“ from Søstrene Grene – and it’s the perfect card for the Quick and Easy Challenge over at Crimbo Crackers – once I had decided what to do, the card came together really quickly. The foam pads underneath the snowflake were the most time-consuming, if I can even call it that.

November! Noch 52 Tage bis Weihnachten! Und gestern Abend kam meine Bastelecke nochmal so richtig zum Brummen. Vor kurzem hat hier ein Søstrene Grene eröffnet und ich war direkt da und habe auch ordentlich zugeschlagen: u.a. habe ich papiergestanzte silberne Mistelzweige erstanden, die nun mal gestestet werden mussten. Und die Jingle Belles haben mit inspiriert: für ihre Challenge Not a Creature was Stirring ist man aufgefordert, ein Tier unterzubringen. Das Foto oben ist irreführend, das war der zweite Entwurf… aber hier der Wettbewerbsbeitrag:

November! Only 52 days until Christmas! Last night my creative nook was very, very busy. A couple of weeks ago, a Søstrene Grene store opened here und I made sure I went there a few days after the grand opening: among (many) other things, I bought a package of silver mistletoe dies which I had wanted to use ever since. The Jingle Belles provided the necessary inspiration: their challenge Not a Creature was Stirring asks for an animal to be inlucded. The picture above is a bit misleading as that is from the second version… but this is the challenge entry:

Wohl wahr: das Farbschema hier, die Küken und die bunten Lichter, die auf dem ersten Blick auch als Konfetti durchgehen könnten, lassen mehr auf Karneval schließen, als auf Weihnachten. Aber das ist einfach so passiert. Hätte ich mich für Rotkehlchen entschieden, wäre das total anders ausgegangen. Aber ich finde, die Karte macht Spaß! Und alles fing an beim neu entdeckten Muse: ChristmasVisions Challenge Blog, wo es einer Inspiration durch eine andere Karte (siehe ganz unten) nachzueifern gilt. Mich inspirierte die Christbaumkugel.

True: the color combo, the chickens and the colored lights (which might come across as confetti at first sight), are more reminiscent of carnival than Christmas. But it just happened. Had I decided on robins, things would have turned out a whole lot differently. But I think this card is a lot of fun! And it all started on the Muse: ChristmasVisions challenge blog that I’ve only recently discovered. Their current challenge is to be inspired by the card of  Stephanie Lanzalotto (see bottom of this post) – the ornament did it for me.

Ja, ich hatte einen Wahnsinnssonntag. Erst der Botanische Garten und dann basteln, basteln, basteln. Und dieser Elch, „Holly Moose“ von Eureka Stamps, hat es mir angetan – und mich dann fast den Verstand gekostet mit diesen ganzen kleinen Blättchen.

Yes, I had one crazy Sunday. First the Botanical Gardens, then crafting, crafting, crafting. And I fell in love with this moose, „Holly Moose“ from Eureka Stamps. And in the end it almost drove me mad with all these tiny leaves to color.
