Nachdem schon die ersten Vermisstenmeldungen abgesetzt wurden und ich heute den ersten „terminfreien“, auf der heimischen Couch verbrachten Tag seit Wochen habe, dachte ich, ich lasse euch nochmal ein Lebenszeichen zukommen. Ich habe nicht nur nicht gepostet, ich habe auch nicht gebastelt seit Ende Januar… ein ganz besch…eidenes Zeichen. Nichtsdestotrotz war ich gestern bei der Creativa in Dortmund und habe mich rundum inspirieren lassen.

As the first inquiries about my wellbeing coincide with this first „appointment free“ day spent at home I thought I’d better drop you all a few lines. I haven’t only not posted but also not crafted since January… a very bad sign. Nevertheless, I spent all day yesterday at Creativa in Dortmund and couldn’t get enough of all the creative genius on display.

Diese Damen waren im Queen’s Battle aktiv – und haben Hochzeitskleider aus Materialien gestaltet, die normalerweise für die Tortendeko verwendet werden. Die Torten an sich fand ich allerdings deutlich interessanter:

These ladies were participating in Queen’s Battle – working on wedding gowns with materials usually used to create breathtaking cakes. Though quite interesting, I much preferred the actual cakes on display:

Auch einen Hauch von Karneval in Venedig gab es zu bestaunen:

Ich benutze zwar nur selten masking tape, aber die Auswahl macht mich immer wieder fertig:

Unbedingt festgehalten wissen möchte ich, dass ich zum ersten Mal überhaupt kein Geschenkband gekauft habe. Schließlich habe ich noch Vorräte, die bis ca. 2025 reichen sollten. Auch auf Designpapier habe ich verzichtet – aber an diesem Stand von Konrad Horsch konnte ich nicht anders und habe mir ein Stövchen aus Holz gegönnt. Es liegt warm und schwer in der Hand und wird in wenigen Momenten eingeweiht.

Please note that for the first time in recorded (Creativa) history I have returned without more ribbon. My stash should take me through 2025 after all. No designer papers, either – but I couldn’t resist these wooden products by Konrad Horsch and treated myself to a wooden teapot warmer which will come to its first use in a few moments.

Für Recycling und Upcycling bin ich ja immer zu haben – und wenn dann auch noch Karten im Spiel sind, bin ich sofort dabei. Am Stand von Tanz auf Ruinen gab’s die wunderbarsten Dinge zu sehen und zu kaufen. Ganz offensichtlich bin ich nicht die einzige, die Briefmarken nicht sammelt, sondern upcycelt:

As you know, I believe in recycling and upcycling – and when maps are part of it, I’m game. Tanz auf Ruinen („Dance on ruins“) had the most wonderful products on offer. Obviously, I’m not the only one who doesn’t collect stamps but upcycles them:

So ganz habe ich die Hoffnung noch nicht aufgegeben, bald wieder mal eine Karte zu zaubern – aber erstmal muss ich eine Regalwand ausräumen, abbauen, dann das neue Regal, das das schwedische Möbelhaus meines Vertrauens bereits vor über einer Woche geliefert hat, aufbauen und organisieren. Ich sage ja, ich komme zu nichts. Aber ich habe Hoffnung, dass ich dann alles so organisiert habe, dass ich wenigstens mal wieder eine freie Arbeitsfläche habe. Das wäre schon hilfreich. 🙂 Habt einen schönen Restsonntag!

I haven’t quite given up hope, yet, that I will soon create a new card – but first I have to clear and take apart the shelves in my creative nook (well, actually in the dining room… call it spillover…), assemble the new one that was delivered more than a week ago already and get it organized. Which I hope will result in a tidy desk. That would help. A lot! 🙂 Enjoy what’s left of your Sunday!
