Für die erste Woche im März habe ich mir das erste Wanderprogramm 2022 einfallen lassen. Zwei von vier Touren haben Mitwanderer gefunden und im Nachhinein glücklicherweise die anderen nicht, so dass ich kurzfristig notwendig gewordene terminliche und Routen-Änderungen vornehmen konnte. So hat mich der Rosenmontag u.a. auf einen Teil der Dörferblickschleife im Bereich Barweiler und Pomster gebracht.

For the first week in March I had drawn up the first hiking schedule for 2022. I had found company for two out of four hikes which in hindsight was a stroke of luck because I had to rearrange dates and routes spontaneously at the start of the week. So Monday took me out on parts of Dörferblickschleife around Barweiler and Pomster and then some.

Da war schon ganz schön viel Frühling im Spiel – wobei ich mir um die Schmetterlinge noch ein bisschen Gedanken mache… sind die immer so früh unterwegs? Hier und da lag auch eine der ganz intensiven Frühlingsduftnoten in der Luft 😉

Spring was all around – I do worry a bit about the butterflies, though… are they always that early? Here and there some of the more intense scents of spring was in the air 😉

Das Grün auf den Wiesen und Weiden fehlt noch ein bisschen – an den Bäumen sowieso, aber bei solch fantastischem Wetter ist das eher nebensächlich. Am Teilstück Richtung Wenigbachtal habe ich mich kurz gefragt, ob auch hier die Trolle, im Einklang mit der Landschaft eher gras- denn moosbewachsen, Einzug gehalten haben.

The meadows and pastures still sport more brown than green – more so the trees, of course, but in this gorgeous weather it was a minor detail. Walking down towards Wenigbach I wondered whether there were trolls now in the Eifel as well – in going with the scenery, more grass than moss covered.

Der Bereich am Wenigbach ist mir der liebste und auch wenn ich darauf vorbereitet war, dass auch hier die Flut vom letzten Sommer Schäden angerichtet haben könnte gab’s dann schon den einen oder anderen „Überraschungsmoment“. Dafür dass wir uns hier im Naturschutzgroßprojekt Obere Ahr-Hocheifel bewegen, hätte ich mir da anderes erwartet als massiv planierte Wege, den Abraum noch als Wall daneben, wo vorher Biotop war: grüner Mittelstreifen, der vor Insekten nur so brummte. Dazu die eher erratisch hingeworfen wirkenden Felsblöcke als… Befestigung?

The area along the Wenigbach is my favorite and even if I was prepared that there may be damages from last summer’s devastating floods, I was in for a few „surprises“. Seeing as this route is part of a nature conservation project, I was not ready for massively levelled paths, the „waste“ left right there, building walls along the former path, where before there was an actual habitat for tens of thousands of insects making the air vibrate on a warm summer day. Add to that the boulders that are somewhat erratically placed to form a… reinforcement?

Wird wohl Zeit, dass ich mir den Rest auch ansehe – die Fernblicke waren heute auf jeden Fall die Highlights…

I guess it’s high time I did the whole route again – the views were definitely highlights today…

So darf das Wetter ein Weilchen bleiben – auf bald!
