Es ist schon ein Weilchen her, als ich mich morgens noch vor dem Frühstück in dieses Winter Wonderland aufgemacht habe – aber bei dem grau-in-grau da draußen dachte ich, es kann ja nicht schaden, nochmal so en passant darauf hinzuweisen, wie fantastisch der Winter ist. Sein kann.

It’s been a while since I walked out into this winter wonderland before I even had breakfast – but looking into the rainy, stormy gray out there I thought it wouldn’t hurt to mention how gorgeous winter is. Can be.

Ich war auf Teilen der Wirftbachschleife unterwegs, aber im Prinzip einfach erstmal Richtung Sonnenaufgang. Malerisch die Nürburg, oder?

It took me out onto parts of the Wirftbach Loop but really my first intention was to walk towards the sunrise. It can’t get much more picturesque than Nürburg, can it?

Dieser gechillten Truppe war ich auch noch nie begegnet…

I hadn’t met this relaxed bunch before…

Die Sonne kam mal hier, mal da zum Zug und hat einzelne Landschaftsteile in rosafarbenes Licht getaucht.

The sun came through here and there and so parts of the landscape were bathed in pink light.

Und natürlich darf auch ein Blick auf mein Lieblingsmotiv nicht fehlen: der Aremberg.

And of course there’s no hike without a view of my favorite motif: Aremberg.

Und so ein Gedanke, der mir gerade auch gut tut: morgen ist schon Freitag!

And another thought that helps me through the day: it’s Friday tomorrow!
