Selbst gebastelte Weihnachtskarten wird es in diesem Jahr zwar kaum geben, aber der Baum musste natürlich sein! Und es war Liebe auf den ersten Blick. Ich brauchte gerade mal zwei Minuten. Der Verkäufer fragte fassungslos, ob ich Schuhe auch so schnell kaufen würde und als ich das im Prinzip bejahen konnte, war er glaube ich kurz davor, mir einen Antrag zu machen.

There won’t be many handmade cards this year but of course I had to get the tree ready this weekend! And it was love at first sight. I needed just about 2 minutes to make up my mind. The seller was dumfounded and wondered whether my shoe shopping was similarly fast. I could basically answer that in the positive – and I think he was just about ready to propose.

Mit den neuen Regalen war kein Platz an der üblichen Stelle und ich musste eine Tür blockieren. Noch dazu habe ich mich schweren Herzens zu einem Umstieg auf LED-Beleuchtung durchgerungen. Aber es ist tatsächlich okay.

I had to put it in a slightly different spot this year as the new shelves were in the way. Now one of the doors is blocked. In addition to these changes I finally decided to switch to LED lighting. But it really is okay.

Ich bin ziemlich froh, dass ich das Foto oben gemacht habe – denn der Elch links vorne ist nicht mehr. Gestern Abend hörte ich auf einmal ein Rauschen im Baum und dann das charakteristische Splittern auf dem Boden 😦 Mit Handwerkskunst aus Holz kann das natürlich nicht passieren.

I’m glad I took the picture above – because the moose on the left is no more. Last night I suddenly heard a swooshing through the tree and then the trademark breaking noise on the floor 😦 That’s the advantage of wooden ornaments: they don’t break as easily.
