Schon Mitte Juni! Da der Schwedenurlaub nicht stattfindet (heute wäre ich das dritte Mal im „Haus am See“ aufgewacht…) bin ich in Vorbereitungen für mein eigenes schwedisches Mittsommerfest im sehr kleinen Kreis und hoffe, dass sich das Wetter bis zum Wochenende noch etwas erholt. Wobei: momentan regt es mal wieder zur Weihnachtskartenkreation an. Dieses Mal bin ich inspiriert von Allsorts, wo es in der 576. Auflage heißt: Embossing, nass oder trocken.

We’re half way through June already! As the vacation in Sweden is not happening (I would have woken up in the „house by the lake“ for the third time this morning), I’m deep into preparations for my own midsummer celebrations here and hope that the weather will shape up a little in time for the weekend. Even though: right now it’s the right weather to make you think about Christmas creations. This time I’m inspired by Allsorts Week #576: Embossing, wet or dry.

Diese Karte bietet sich für viele Challenges an, aber auch für einen kleinen Blick hinter die Kulissen. Hier wird nichts verschwendet – Recycling selbst der allerkleinsten Reste:

This card qualifies for about half a dozen challenges but also for a peek behind the scenes: Nothing is ever wasted here – even the tiniest scraps are being recycled:

Die Nussknacker kamen in verschiedenen Ausführungen, so dass ich auch noch eine Karte machen konnte für Crafty Hazelnut’s Challenge #494: Non-traditional colors. Braun, ein bräunliches Orange und ein gräuliches Lila kommen hier ganz gut zusammen, mit dem geometrischen Muster, worum es bei Papercraft #59 geht.

The nutcrackers came in different styles so I was also able to make a card for Crafty Hazelnut’s Challenge #494: Non-traditional colors. Brown, a brownish orange and a greyish purple combine for quite an interesting color palette. And the geometric pattern calls for entry over at Papercraft Challenge #59.

The meadow across the street was mowed which also helps with undisturbed Christmas card creating: the hunting season has started, mice beware! It’s really busy, better than the movies. And as usual Larry is annoyed by the auntie taking pictures. I’m an embarrassment I guess…
