Dieses Bild kombiniert mit dem Titel des Beitrags legt die Vermutung nahe, ich sei voll im Zynismus versunken. Doch nein, soweit ist es noch nicht. So sah der Blick aus meinem Küchenfenster letztes Wochenende aus. Dabei wichtig zu beachten ist der Nikolaus am unteren Bildrand. Denn gestern bin ich den Kasten angegangen und habe die Weihnachtsdeko entfernt:

You would think I had succumbed to cynicism when you look at the picture and the title of this post. But no, there’s still some way to go before that. That was the view from my kitchen window last weekend. Note the little Santa in the lower left corner. Because yesterday I suffered a bout of spring fever and finally bagged the Christmas decorations:

Und diese gelben falsch gewachsenen Spargelstangen sind eigentlich Narzissen, die exakt im Nikolaus schon gewachsen waren. Das ist ein klares Zeichen, dass meine Weihnachtsdeko zu lange bleibt…

And these yellow asparagus-like stalks are actually daffodils that had grown inside the little Santa – I guess I placed it perfectly. This is a clear sign that my Christmas decorations are up too long…

Auch in den anderen Kästen geht es langsam zur Sache – da sind aber nur Dekoobjekte zu finden, die eine Narzisse, die was auf sich hält, einfach aus dem Weg schiebt. Und wenn Narzisse und Krokus gemeinsame Sache machen, umso besser.

The other boxes showed clear signs of impending spring – and they only feature decorations that are easily pushed out of the way by any self-respecting daffodil. And when a daffodil and a crocus team up, everything seems possible.

Ich scheine aber nicht allein zu sein mit meinem Frühlingserwachen. Bei Our Beautiful World heißt es nämlich heute Signs of Spring. Wer also den Blues hat, sollte sich vielleicht einfach dort weiter umsehen. Und auch wenn ich weiß, dass es noch nicht Ostern ist und Primeln es drinnen meist gar nicht so mögen, konnte ich nicht anders…

Heute Morgen sah ich außerdem, dass Garfield und seine Truppe am (witterungsbedingten) Lagerkoller leiden – wie so oft finde ich den Cartoon äußerst gelungen:
