Das Waldhuhn ist ganz schön fertig. Dabei war das Wochenende anders vorgesehen. Nämlich mit nichts. Das kann sehr schön sein, besonders, wenn es selten der Fall ist. Dann aber machte ich den „Fehler“, am Freitag zum schwedischen Möbelhaus meines Vertrauens zu fahren – um festzustellen, dass der Schrank, der eigentlich erst Ende September zu haben sein sollte, nun vorrätig war. Samstag morgen wurden 200kg Einzelteile geliefert.

The grouse is knackered alright. And this after I had previewed this weekend totally differently. I was going to do nothing. That can be rather nice, in particular when it doesn’t happen that often. But then I made the „mistake“ of going to my favorite Swedish furniture store – and realized that the cupboard I had been waiting for was in stock. 440 lbs were delivered in pieces Saturday morning.

Das allerdings sind nur die Teile für das Nachttischchen. Und wenn man feststellt, dass allein dafür die Schrauben etc. in drei Beutel sortiert sind, weiß man, dass man langfristig beschäftigt sein wird.

Above are only the pieces for the little bedside table, though. And when you realize that just for that the screws etc. come in three separate bags, you know that you’re in for the long haul.

Und der Blick auf den eigentlichen Berg stellt klar, dass nichts anderes laufen wird.

Just one quick look at the actual work and you know: there won’t be anything else happening this weekend.

Gestern Abend stand der dreiteilige Korpus, heute morgen kamen die Türen dran und die Regalbretter rein. Nichts schlägt das Gefühl, wenn du merkst, dass du die Scharniere an der falschen Seite angebracht hast und zwei Türen wieder komplett abmontieren kannst.

The structural work was finished last night and this morning the doors were added as were the shelves. Nothing beats the feeling of realizing that you attached the hinges to the wrong side of the cupboard and you need to start from scratch with two doors.

Tjaha, die Lampe macht sich auch gut. Aber in der Zwischenzeit habe ich auch die neue Bettwäsche durchgewaschen und die Gesamtschau macht sich bestens. Nur einen neuen Wecker brauche ich wohl – der passt ja farblich so gar nicht ins Konzept 😉

Well, the lamp fits in nicely, too. But in the meantime I have also washed the new sheets and the overall view is just marvelous. I think I might have to replace the alarm clock, though – it just doesn’t fit into the new color combo 😉

Eine „Krisenecke“ gibt es noch – ich arbeite daran. Allerdings heute nicht mehr. Und die Vorhänge müssen noch gekürzt werden. „Morgen“ ist auch noch ein Tag. Habt einen guten Start in die Woche.

There’s one corner that needs special attention – I’m working on it. But not today. And the curtains need to be shortened. There’s always „tomorrow“. Have a great start into the week!
