Es ist kalt und ich sitze direkt an einem meiner Heizkörper. Und wenn keine Fensterbank drüber wäre, würde ich mich auch direkt drauf setzen. Meinen Heizlüfter fürs Bad habe ich gereinigt… und kam mir dabei vor wie ein Zahnarzt bei einer Wurzelbehandlung. Denn die kann man nicht aufschrauben, die Dinger. Also habe ich mit einem Brieföffner in den Schlitzen rumgefummelt und gleichzeitig die Staubsaugerdüse drübergehalten, zum absaugen. Das Ergebnis ist ganz ansehnlich. Nur habe ich mich noch nicht getraut, das Ding mal an den Strom anzuschließen…

It’s cold and I’m sitting right next to one of my heaters. And if there weren’t a window sill above it I would sit right on top of it. I’ve also cleaned the fan heater for the bathroom… and felt like a dentist doing a root canal treatment. Because you can’t open them, those things. So I was sitting there, poking at its innards with a letter opener while at the same time keeping the nozzle of the vacuum cleaner on top of it, to suck stuff out of it. It looks pretty good. Only I haven’t had the nerve to hook it up yet…

Aber der Tag war ja schön. Kalt, aber schön. „Der Jahreszeit entsprechend.“ Und weil ich nicht aus der Sonne wollte, habe ich mich in der Innenstadt auf so eine Art Schnitzeljagd begeben. Vor kurzem fiel mir auf, dass diese Kästen – was auch immer da eigentlich drin ist – mit Graffiti versehen worden waren.

But it was a gorgeous day. Cold, but gorgeous. „Seasonably cold.“ And as I didn’t want to go inside (and thereby out of the sun) I went on a scavenger hunt of sorts. A little while ago I had started noticing that those boxes – whatever is actually inside them – had been spraypainted.

Von einigen Ausnahmen abgesehen finde ich ja, dass kreativ was anderes ist – aber irgendwie fand ich es doch interessant und hatte Spaß dabei, mehr zu suchen.

Save a few exceptions I felt that they weren’t all that creative – but I still found it hugely interesting and had fun looking for more.

Und dann kam ich natürlich nicht umhin mich zu fragen, was es eigentlich auf sich hat damit. Manchmal werden so Dinge ja in Auftrag gegeben. Aber dafür finde ich sie ehrlich gesagt zu einfallslos. Also doch Vandalismus?

I couldn’t help wondering what they were really about. Sometimes these graffitis are actually commissioned. But frankly, they are too uninspired for that now, aren’t they? So are they acts of vandalism after all?

Vielleicht hat es mit dem Link auf dem unterst rechten des „Six pack“ oben zu tun. Der führt zu einer Pro-Festspielhaus Website. Hm. Kann es sein, dass mir die Graffitis zum ersten Mal im Rahmen des Beethovenfests aufgefallen waren?? Wie auch immer: das Fahrrad ist cool, oder? Und nun wünsche ich euch ein schönes Wochenende!

Maybe it’s got something to do with the link shown on the „six-pack“ above, at lower right. It takes you to a website advocating for the new festival hall. Mmh. Maybe I’ve first noticed the graffitis during this year’s Beethovenfest?? Anyway: that bicycle is cool, isn’t it? Have a nice weekend!
